LIDIS landmark Parramatta riverfront development, The Lennox, has been named ‘Best International Project’ at the PCBC Gold Nugget Awards in San Francisco.
Known as the ‘Academy Awards’ of the building industry, PCBC’s Gold Nugget Awards are presented annually to the top innovators in design, planning and development.
The judges were impressed by The Lennox’s use of innovation and technology to overcome even the most significant challenges while creating an elegant solution that is a welcome addition to the Parramatta skyline.
“The building mass is driven by the creative plan geometry and emphasises the verticality of the building,” the judges said. “This geometry also gives almost every unit two to three sides of light and ventilation. The crisp, minimalist interiors are sophisticated and well executed.
''We commend the sustainable design, celebration of history and aboriginal heritage, and reclamation of the urban riverfront. This is the kind of residential community that makes a big impact on the community at large,” they added.
Located at the junction of the historic Lennox Bridge and Parramatta’s Church Street dining and shopping precinct, the $450-million, 47-level, mixed-use project is the result of a Project Development Agreement between the City of Parramatta and LIDIS, with development management by EQ Projects.
Designed by award-winning architects Johnston Pilton Walker, with Marchese Partners as executive architects and interiors by Lorena Gaxiola,
The Lennox comprise 441 studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom residences offering a luxurious lifestyle on a level unseen in Parramatta.
Residences range from 40 to 206 square metres internally with prices starting at $495,000 to more than $3.5 million for the development’s opulent SkyVillas.
The project also includes 5500 square metres of retail and mixed-use space and eight levels of basement parking.
Externally, the tower’s slender reflective glass form rises majestically over the Parramatta River, integrating with the foreshore and reworked public spaces.
